For decades, mothers and doctors alike have been pleading with us to add more vegetables to our diets, and with good reason. Vegetable consumption has been linked to many benefits. Yep, you read that right. If you’re trying to manage weight, veggies are your new BFF. Due to their typically high fiber content and lower calorie count, you can eat until you’re full without completely damaging your weight loss goals.

Vegetables are full of complex carbohydrates, which can take a bit longer to digest. In comparison, it’s much better than the quick spike and crash that most get with simple carbohydrates.

So, how much do you need to consume? The daily recommended amount for adults is 2-3 cups, but with health benefits like these, you might be motivated to aim higher than that.
